Town of Colonial Beach, Virginia

In 2005, a former acquaintance and I adventured out on one of my first “grown up” vacations to the Town of Colonial Beach, Virginia. We stayed in a neat little vintage Motel on the river named the Wakefield Motel, and even stayed a few nights in the “fancy” room, with a view of the river. We met a lot of great people, and had a lot of fun.

Our visit, apparently, was not long after a large storm had come through the area. Where their were once piers and riverboats, there was now only the broken up remains, waiting to be rebuilt.

The town itself had quite a bit of neat architecture and history.
