Your Life Shouldn’t be a Corporation

So, we track our spending in Quicken Home & Business, which has been improved to the point of being terrible. We will soon be in the process of upgrading to Quickbooks and I’m reading up on it.

I came across this (informative) blog post:
http://www.slcbookkeeping.com/quickbooks-tips-blog/bid/116389/3-Ways-I-Use-QuickBooks-To-Manage-Personal-Finances

The short version is, the guy is talking about managing his family and makes statements about running “several different reports on the family”.

I find this really, really sad. Corporate mentality has pushed its way in to every aspect of life. Our government is run by it, schools are run by it, and people are running their family by it. I’m guilty of it too, to a degree.

We shouldn’t be spending our whole life trying to make that extra dollar, and squeeze those extra pennies out of each transaction. We should be enjoying ourselves, enjoying the world we live in and the people around us.
